About Klou
Our History
Cutters, Klou’s parent company, was established in the UK in 1999, by members of one of the largest and most respected distributors of landscape and forestry equipment in South Africa. Originally, Cutters was built up providing garden and arborist equipment sales and servicing across the South of the UK, but by 2010, Cutters had also expanded into the manufacture of hydraulic attachments. In 2014, the decision was made to concentrate solely on this portion of the business, under the brand name of Klou. Since then, Klou has rapidly grown into a global business with an ever-expanding product range, and now supplies customers in the Americas, Australasia, Africa and across Europe with top-quality hydraulic attachments manufactured at its production facility in Dorset, UK.
Why "Klou"?
Klou (rhymes with ‘plough’) is an Afrikaans word, meaning ‘claw’ in English – we build the bit that does the work at the sharp end.
